Cream blush has really been having a moment, hasn’t it? Everywhere I look a brand is launching their cream blush and bronzer collections, and I am HERE for it.

Pixi Beauty actually launched a clear version of these a few years ago. Imagine glossy colourless sheen in well-considered packaging. I mentioned the original Pixi On The Glow way back and still love it.

Let’s talk about the packaging first: I get it, it kinda resembles a deodorant. But it’s slim housing with a functional twist up and down component that I greatly appreciate. Plus, the caps matching the colour inside is accurate and aesthetically cute!

The value on these is also excellent, retailing for around $18 and housing a whopping 19 grams of product.

Most importantly, quality and pigment is king with any product, and these really deliver on their promise. The pigment for something that calls itself a “tinted balm” is excellent!

The On The Glow Blushes aren’t a dry down or cream to powder blush like many formulas. These are truly a balm, leaving a sheen on the skin with a dewy finish that is also safe to use on lips.

I find them best applied straight from the tube and blend out with fingers or dense brush with a gentle tapping motion. It’s literally that easy. Despite being a balmy texture, I don’t have issues with them disturbing the makeup underneath; It’s a fantastic option if you’ve feeling a bit dry or powdery.

Obviously, lasting power isn’t the main goal with a product like this. The true beauty is that you can just reapply without needing a brush, or even a mirror!

The shade range is small with 3 options, but I feel they are good, universally flattering options. Because they don’t have a white or chalky base, I’ve seen these apply beautifully to a multitude of skin tones.

Down the road, I would love to see some pearly, highlighting options.

Currently, there is:

  • Juicy – A orange based coral
  • Fluer – A cool mid tone pink
  • Ruby – A fucshia berry

If you’re a blush lover like me, these are a fantastic addition to your collection. If you’re someone who tends to overapply, these give you some grace. If you’re someone who wants something easy and on the go, it doesn’t get much easier!
