IF THERE IS ONE GREAT THING 2020 HAS BROUGHT ME, IT’S PLENTY OF AMAZING DRUGSTORE BEAUTY FINDS.
These Wet n Wild Hello Halo Blushlighters immediately caught my eye when they launched, and just had a feeling they would be lovely. Given my recent rave of the Wet n Wild Photofocus Dewy Foundation, I’d say the brand has won me over once again.
WET N WILD HELLO HALO BLUSHLIGHTERS*
WHAT THE BRAND CLAIMS: “A blush and highlighter duo that instantly sculpts, defines and highlights in one sweep. These soft, buildable shades contain ultra-reflective, micro-fine pearl pigments that create a luminous, radiant glow and blend to a perfect finish. Each duo has two levels of intensity for color that compliments every skin tone.”
THE VALUE: $8.49 CND/10g
THE SHADE RANGE: There are 3 duos in this range.
- Highlight Bling (golden pink and icy pink)
- After Sex Glow (pale peach and champagne)
- Flash Me (golden deep rose and rose gold)
THE FINISH: These vary between being metallic and sparkly. The highlighter in Highlight Bling has noticeable small glitters, that I prefer to keep on the eyes vs the face. The highlighter shades can really be buffed (spare the icy pink glitter highlight) really buff into a gorgeous glossy highlight. The blushes are most definitely shimmery but don’t emphasise pores or texture in my experience.
THE TEXTURE: Silky soft powders that feel creamy when swatched.

WHY THESE ARE GREAT: The texture of these really mimics that of a luxury product. It turns almost creamy on the skin and can be manipulated to really work into the skin. You can sheer them out, or really go full-on, which not all shimmery/highlighting products can do.
While not all the shades work for my skin tone as intended, I love that they offered a deep highlighter that would look absolutely stunning on darker complexions. The pale peach blush shade in After Sex Glow would be lovely on very fair skin.
I love mixing the highlighter and blush of Flash Me as a super glowing sunkissed blush. The highlighter in After Sex Glow gives a gorgeous glossy shine to my cheekbones without looking chalky and frosty. I find myself reaching for these quite a bit when going for a monochromatic look, because they can be super impactful as eyeshadows as well!
