LATELY, I JUST CAN’T GET OVER THE EASE OF CREAM BEAUTY PRODUCTS.
The heat has cranked up, my toddler has decided sleeping is for the weak, and I just never seem to have time. So that means my morning routine needs to be crazy fast, and cream products just ease that struggle a little bit faster.
Here’s the thing though: I have dehydrated skin. And dehydration mixed with cream products can be dicey, because my skin wants to drink up any moisture it has, leaving blotchy pigment behind.
So, unsurprisingly, I am picky about what cream makeup products make the cut. They need to be pigmented, they need to blend, they need to not be sticky or greasy, and most importantly, they need to have decent lasting power!
MY CURRENT FAVOURITE LONG-LASTING CREAM MAKEUP FAVES
The beauty of many cream products is how versatile they can be. I’ve you’re the type that really only wants to keep a small makeup bag of a handful of products, creams can be a great choice. Two of my choices are considered “multi” use, meaning they can be used on cheeks, lips, and in some cases even eyes. I’m not really the type that likes that kind of product, and generally find I reach for them for specific uses only, but you do you.
These are for those who want that dewy, creamy effect that has the sheen without the shimmer. The Nudies can be used on eyes, lips and face, but I really only reach for mine for cheeks.
I have the shade Tiger Lily Queen and its the most gorgeous peachy coral that is perfect for summer time! There are 3 other shades in the dewy formula, but there is also a satin version with another 6-7 options.
I love that these have no scent, blend out with fingers amazingly ( there is actually a little brush on the back of the tube, but it’s not my fave) and actually pack a pigment punch. They also make a great base if you find powder blush disappears on you!
Oh, and did I mention it’s Canadian?!
Ok, so I won’t go on and on about this because I just wrote this whole post about it. Long story short, it’s a beautiful formula for a cream bronzer; Creamy, blendable but then sets down without a tacky finish.
There are 3 shades, and you get 16 grams of product, which is more than most cream bronzers out there.
I’ve written about these a few times, and they really are a wonderful formula!
The Beauty Highlight Wands are such a gorgeous texture for a highlighter; Creamy, reflective, pearly and glossy looking, without a sticky feel or glittery effect. If you’ve struggled with highlighters that don’t sit well on skin texture or look too stark, these are a real “gotta try it to believe it” kind of product.
In a similar vein is the Hollywood Contour Wands, which makes blending out contour a dream because the product has such a beautiful give to it. While some cream contouring products can really disrupt your base underneath, this formula is practically weightless and its hard to over do it. The tone is a true neutral sculpting tone, unlike most which still err on the side of being a bronzer.
There are several shade options for highlighter and two for contour.
I recently got the small version of this in the shade Werk for my Sephora birthday gift, and I am thrilled! The formula has plenty of pigment, and the shade gives that really natural flush to the skin that can be sheered out of built up.
With a satin finish, I prefer to wear this on my cheeks, but it does make a really pretty soft pinky rose shade on the lips in a pinch that I wouldn’t be mad about.
Buying the full size version is the way to go on these, you get an amazing amount of product for the price.
These are another recent rave of mine over in this post, so I won’t lament on other than to say they take all the decision making out of an easy eye look!
With a creamy matte on one side and a foiled metallic on the other, these duos make for the easiest put together looking eye makeup; It will look like you spent forever on your look when in actuality it was about 3 minutes.
I absolutely love these and want more shades. I have Cashmere Robe/ Penthouse Suite and Request Line/Slow Jams and love them equally for a long-lasting effortless cream shadow.
