Too Faced Natural Nudes Lipstick Review and Swatches
[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t takes a lot for me to get excited about lipstick you guys. I find few formulas genuinely comfortable to wear, and I stick to neutrals and nudes. You won’t find a red or vampy lip on this girl – we just don’t ‘work’ together well. So when I heard that Too Faced was releasing an extension to their Natural Collection with their Natural Nudes Intense Color Coconut Butter Lipsticks, I was definitely intrigued.

Too Faced Natural Nudes Intense Color Coconut Butter Lipstick Review and Swatches
I’ve always liked their La Creme formula but found the shade range limited. I liked the shades of the Peach Kiss range, but the scent was sickly to me. So basically, I was hoping for a lot with the new Natural Nudes Lipsticks. Too Faced claims these are ‘richly pigmented, creamy lipsticks infused with hydrating coconut butter’.
The packaging for these is slim and feminine. This is understated for a brand like Too Faced, but exactly what I like. The colour on the outside corresponds to the shade inside (love that for easy finding in your makeup bag!) and they all have a gorgeous vintage lace motif.
The formula of the Natural Nudes Lipsticks is definitely on the thicker side. It’s slightly luminous and is most definitely pigmented as the brand suggests. The texture hugs the lips well, but the paler shades clung to the dry lines on my lips. The formula does have a creamy feel to it and isn’t drying.
I have 8 of the 10 shades and was surprised to see many of the paler shades were quite golden in undertone. Of the shades I have, my favourites are Pout About It and Girl Code. I find these perform the best in terms of pigment and coverage on my naturally pigmented lips. The darker shades, Throwin’ Suede and Indecent Proposal are beautifully rich without any patchyness at all.
I only have one vice with these, and once again it is the scent. As I mentioned in my , these don’t smell anything like coconut. Instead, it’s that same vanilla car air freshener. Thankfully, unlike the Peach Kiss Lipsticks, the scent fades once on the lips! As long as you can stomach it for the initial application, I wouldn’t be concerned.
