So at first thought, I know what you’re thinking: “What the heck is going on with that wand?!” Givenchy has designed Noir Interdit mascara to have a bendable brush so that you can build a ‘lash extension effect’ and volume. I often find wands like this quite gimmicky, and while it took a minute or two to get used to it, I do actually like it! Besides the bizarre brush, in typical Givenchy fashion, the packaging is ultra luxe and chic with a ribbon adorned black tube that screams luxury. In all honesty, I expected the retail price to be higher than it was, so that is a plus!
The brush itself is a rubberized bristle only on one side. I will warn that it is quite spiky and if you have really short lashes, you might find it harder to use because of this. I found it gave my lashes nice definition and a significant length, but didn’t build up quite as much volume as I normally would like. It held a curl really well and was nice and black, which is a huge plus for me. Even though I experienced no smudging or flaking during the day, it washed off easily as well!
These features all add up to a solid mascara in my opinion, but there was one downfall I really struggled with: the scent. I honestly don’t understand why luxury brands put such heavy scents into products that are meant for the eyes! Noir Interdit has a spicy floral perfume that I could see someone applying as a night time fragrance. Every time I blinked I got a strong waft of perfume. Considering I rarely can smell my own fragrance on me unless I sniff my wrists, I found this overwhelming. I would consider this a really great lengthening mascara, but I think it will put off people who struggle with migraines or perfume-induced allergies.
Lovers of long, defined lashes, this one is definitely for you! Let me know if you’ve tried it, and if so what you think of the fragrance!

I wish this mascara gives me as much volume and curl as it did with your lashes but on mine it’s very minimal. I do love the separation and length though.

Did you try and build it up? I curled my lashes and added two coats. Mascara NEVER curls my lashes, that’s on me LOL
I think it might be perfect for you then!
I love the look of this! Usually I don’t bother with expensive mascara as I think the drugstore do some great ones! I do like the idea of this wand though! And I agree with there being no need to add a heavy scent to makeup. xxx
I’m all for a subtle fragrance, it can make a product luxurious, but this could substitute for actually putting on perfume in the first place!
