One of the best purchases I made last year was the holiday set of Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Colours – I did a full review of it here. As a big fan of the formula and ease of use, I was thrilled to see that for Holiday 2015 there was another set, the Laura Mercier Matte to Metal Collection*, this time with six shades, including two more satin finish versions!
Included in this limited edition set are six shades including Amethyst, Rose Gold, Khaki and Sugar Frost from the original line, as well as Aubergine and Ganache which are released as new matte finish shades, though I’d refer to them as satin. I already knew I loved this formula – if you haven’t tried it you can expect a smooth creamy consistency, that is beautifully pigmented and blends out easily, but then sets bulletproof all day.
I always love when Laura Mercier releases these sets for the Holidays because it’s such a great way to try out a few colours you were curious about, along with some fantastic neutrals you know you already love. The shade selection this year is really fantastic; the addition of Aubergine to pair with Amethyst is such a wonderful combination. To break down the shades for you:
Aubergine – satin eggplant/plum purple
Amethyst – sort of a metallic duochrome effect of plum laced with gold and rose
Ganache – satin golden chocolate brown
Khaki – a golden shimmering green olive
Rose Gold – a pink champagne shimmer
Sugar Frost – a sparkling yellow champagne
These minis make such great handbag-sized makeup on the go products, and because you can literally blend them out with your finger if you like, they are awesome for the woman on the go, or the busy mom, or the girl who just doesn’t like to faff around with makeup. You’ve probably noticed that I quite often have one of these in my monthly favourites posts, or look of the day posts, which clearly shows what a big fan I am!
This year you can get the Laura Mercier Matte to Metal Caviar Eye Colour Collection at Nordstrom or Holt Renfrew you can purchase the full sized individual favourite Caviar Eye Colours at Sephora.
Have you tried these? What has been your favourite holiday set that has been released this year?
