Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks

Spring is here and so are the hydrating, balmy lipsticks I’ve been waiting for since who knows when. As you all know, the matte liquid lipstick phase is lost on me and I’ve dreamt for easy to wear lipcolour to pop back en vogue (not that I ever stopped wearing them…). When I saw the Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks land on my desk I was intrigued; The brand’s recent lip colour launches to date had underwhelmed me. Turns out these were exactly what I was hoping for: luminous, comfortable lipsticks with a smooth balmy finish!

In typical Dior fashion, the packaging on the new Addict Lacquer Sticks is simply gorgeous. The black cherry tubes with silver branding and accents match the price tag.
Obviously, it is what’s on the inside that counts and thankfully, the product inside is gorgeous! I like the thinner lipstick bullet in terms of application. I find it applies evenly with a smoothing finish that doesn’t catch in my lip lines. Of the four shades I tried, all applied equally, even the pale pink seen above (‘Turn Me Dior’) which is notoriously a hard to work with shade.

Moreso, I loved how these feel on the lips; Lightweight and semi-glossy as the name ‘Lacquer’ suggests minus the sticky feeling of a gloss. All my fellow long-haired sisters surely can appreciate this! The texture is slightly thinner than a balm, but left my lips feeling hydrated and it wore off as such.

On trend with Dior’s latest lipstick launches, the Addict Lacquer Sticks come in a gamut of colours fit for most desires. I’m thrilled that Dior has expanded their ranges to include some younger audiences as well as explore multiple textures. I was ready to scream if another matte red lipstick landed in my office and these were such a welcome surprise!
