Testing Out the Urban Stay Naked Complexion Revamp
URBAN DECAY IS STAYING NAKED.
I mean, was anyone surprised? Urban Decay has revamped its entire complexion range and appropriately named it Stay Naked. There’s the Stay Naked Foundation*, Concealer*, Powder Foundation* and cheekily named Stay Naked Threesome*; A bronzer, highlighter, blush combo. I’ve been putting the range to the test, and have all the details below!
The newly revamped Urban Decay Stay Naked collection has gone with a clear/rosegold theme for their packaging. I’m thrilled they been phasing out cardboard packaging for longevity sakes, and there doesn’t seem to be an excess of plastic in the packaging.
THE URBAN DECAY STAY NAKED COLLECTION INCLUDES:
- Stay Naked Foundation
- Stay Naked Concealer
- Stay Naked Powder Foundation
- Stay Naked Threesome (powder bronzer, highlighter and blush trios)
The foundation bottle is slim with a pump but personally I wish it was just a touch shorter so it fit standing up in my makeup drawers. I realize it’s a small pet peeve, but with everything else in the line being really compact, I felt it was worth sharing. The concealer is much smaller – similar in size to a lipgloss.
Both powder products, the powder foundation and Threesome trios, have full-compact sized mirrors. The foundation has a sponge compartment kept separate from the product, for easy on the go touch ups. I personally don’t love the raised ‘UD’ plastic embossing on the front of these; It’s a bit tacky for my tastes.

URBAN DECAY STAY NAKED FOUNDATION
AVAILABLE AT: SEPHORA | ULTA | LOOK FANTASTIC
BRAND CLAIM: “A vegan, buildable, medium-coverage liquid foundation with a real-skin, matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours”
FORMULA: It’s a thin liquid when you begin to manipulate it, but not overly runny when initially pumped out.
FINISH: UD says Matte, but I would say it is slightly more satin-leaning-matte.
COVERAGE: Urban Decay claims Medium, and I would agree with the note that it can be buildable to medium-full.
SHADE RANGE: 50 shades in varying undertones with good representation. I wear 30CG, which is a slightly olive tone.
MY THOUGHTS: I struggle with this foundation. When it works, it looks beautifully smooth, even and the shade is fantastic for my skin that can’t handle any peach/pink but can look really yellow.
Unfortunately, when it doesn’t work (which is more often than not) I find it really unforgiving on my dry dehydrated skin. I really have to focus on prep with this foundation; Loads of hydration and also something pore-filling is needed. Stay Naked can actually make my complexion look like I have more visible pores than I normally would, and it’s thin formula isn’t forgiving to any skin texture.
I’ve tried it with a Beauty Blender and several different brushes. In my opinion, a fluffier buffing brush is not the choice for this, causing loads of streaks. My best applications came from a flat top kabuki with a patting motion.
In terms of longevity, it wears really well lasting all day overall, but it clings to patches and creases ungracefully.

URBAN DECAY STAY NAKED CONCEALER
AVAILABLE AT: SEPHORA | ULTA | LOOK FANTASTIC
BRAND CLAIM: “An ultra-pigmented, lightweight concealer that covers hyperpigmentation and imperfections with a real-skin, matte finish, and lasts up to 24 hours.”
FORMULA: Lightweight liquid with an angled doe foot applicator.
FINISH: The brand states Matte, and again I would say satin-matte.
COVERAGE: The brand claims Full, and I would disagree and say this is medium coverage but does build a bit.
SHADE RANGE: 25 with varying undertones and good representation. I use 20WY for under my eyes.
MY THOUGHTS: I’ve been using this concealer seamlessly with multiple different bases and like it. It’s not mountain moving in terms of coverage, offering buildable medium+, which is plenty for me most days. It’s thinner in texture than I expected; I prefer a sponge or rounded dense brush to press it into the skin under my eyes to keep the coverage as it can blend away. This concealer sets itself relatively well, on creasing on the inner corners on me if I don’t use powder (which I often do with most concealers anyways).
In terms of longevity, there is no way this lasts 24 hours. I wish brands would stop putting ridiculous wear times on products because it automatically sets themselves up for failure. It lasts through the day, no more.

URBAN DECAY STAY NAKED POWDER FOUNDATION
AVAILABLE AT: SEPHORA | ULTA | LOOK FANTASTIC
BRAND CLAIM: “A weightless, vegan long-wear powder foundation with buildable medium coverage and a real-skin matte finish that lasts up to 16 hours.”
FORMULA: Creamy powder
FINISH: Matte
COVERAGE: Medium
SHADE RANGE: 24 shades with good inclusivity with some variance in undertones. I have 30NN
MY THOUGHTS: Obviously with dry skin, powder foundations aren’t really my forte; I tend to use them to up the coverage over a liquid or to smooth out the finish of a liquid that wasn’t kind to skin texture. I really like this product and find the medium coverage claim solid.
Personally, I wouldn’t think this is the formula for you if you want to stay super matte all day; It lets a lot of glow through, throughout the day. Oily complexions might find they need further mattifying, but I actually love that this gets a bit dewy through the day.
My preferred method is the use a fluffy brush to use this as a setting powder, or a dense brush to press into areas where I need more coverage, like my jawline.

URBAN DECAY STAY NAKED THREESOME IN RISE
AVAILABLE AT: SEPHORA | ULTA | LOOK FANTASTIC
BRAND CLAIM: “A three-in-one blush, bronzer, and highlighter palette with a new and improved formula that’s creamy, lightweight, and lasts up to 14-hours.”
FORMULA: Powder bronzer, highlighter and blush trios.
FINISH: The bronzer and blush are matte, and the highlighter is a subtle sheen.
SHADE RANGE: The Threesome Trios come in 3 options: Rise (pale bronze, peachy shimmer, bright pink -shown here), Naked (medium bronze, soft gold, classic pink) and Fly (deep bronze, rich gold, terracotta pink)
MY THOUGHTS: I really love this palette for an everyday wearable option! The bronzer is deep enough for me, and relatively neutral, but might be too pale for tan skins and beyond. The blush is nicely pigmented but blends smoothly without any chalkiness.
If you’ve previously found Urban Decay highlighters in these palettes sparkly, you’ll want to take note that these highlighters are very subtle! Think pearly glow rather than a frosty highlighter.
