WHEN IT COMES TO GLAM, CHARLOTTE TILBURY REALLY JUST KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK.
The famed makeup artist just knows how to do sexy packaging, doesn’t she? She launched her brand dripping in art deco themed rose gold and burgundy and hasn’t stopped wowing since. The new Hot Lips 2 Lipstick collection though, is really something special.
Each lipstick has a stunning metal tube casing that can actually be switched out with refills you can buy on her website. I love that you can keep one tube and reuse it for whatever shade you want next. The casings have a luxe, weighty feel that you will want to pull out for touch-ups. My favourite is the black night sky with golden stars; Stars are a frequent theme in Charlotte’s packaging.
I was kindly sent 3 shades. There are 10 shades in the range and one clear balm.
- Glowing Jen (named for Jennifer Aniston) – a soft rose
- In love with Olivia (named for Olivia Palermo) – a neutral pink
- JK Magic (named for JK Rowling) – a pink nude
The formula is what I’ve come to expect from Charlotte – richly pigmented opaque coverage, with a creamy satin finish in these three shades. I love that Charlotte’s lipsticks really go on full coverage with a single swipe. You can easily sheer them out, but you don’t need multiple layers to cover pigmented lips (like mine).
Because they aren’t as balmy as some formulas out there, a little lip prep goes a long way. My lips are naturally very dry, and I have quite a bit of creasing, so a touch of balm or lip primer helps plenty with this formula to help from bunching or catching. Having said that, Charlotte’s lipsticks don’t move around on me or feather on the edges.
If you’re a lipstick lover, you simply need to have (at least!) one of the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Lipsticks in your collection.
