The Hyaluronic Acid Wonder Duo

ONE OF SKINCARE’S BIGGEST BUZZ WORDS LATELY IS HYALURONIC ACID.

But what is it, what does it do, and why do you need it?

As someone who has dry and dehydrated skin, including hyaluronic acid in my routine is essential. Believe it or not, most people have skin dehydration thanks to stress, pollution and diet. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance that is vital to youthful looking and feeling skin. It’s also a humectant, that can attract up to 1000 times its weight in water, which helps plump, soften and heal the skin. Sounds amazing right? It genuinely is.

VICHY MINERAL 89 | DAILY BOOSTER AND EYES

Vichy’s Mineral 89 name comes from the 89% Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water it’s formulated with. The Skin Fortifying Daily Booster has swiftly become a best seller and I have no doubt why; It’s lightweight gel formula sinks in quickly and is suitable for all skin types. Oily or combo skin might find this does plenty of hydrating all on its own as a serum+ moisturizer in one. I’ve found I can cut back on how much cream or oil I layer on top, and I use this morning and night. It sits under makeup beautifully, but also plays nice with acids and retinol for night use!

So given how much I got on with the serum, when Vichy offered to send over their new Mineral 89 Eyes, I was thrilled. Hyaluronic Acid is often used in eye surgeries and in lip fillers. It’s an amazing option for those who are worried about fine lines, dryness and crepeyness around their eyes, like I do. This was a case of love at first use for me. Unlike the gel texture of the aforementioned product, the Mineral 89 Eyes is a silky serum. It sinks in just as beautifully, sits well under makeup and smooths out the under eye area instantly. I’d say if you were used to using a heavy or emollient eye cream this will be a change for you, but for summer it’s absolutely perfect for me.

Both products come in glass bottles with pumps that dispense the perfect amount of product. It’s no doubt with the original Mineral 89 became a fast favourite, and I expect the Mineral 89 Eyes to follow suit!
