Wherein Tarte Nailed It Again!
You guys know I have been a Tarte fangirl since early days, but the brand just keeps knocking launches out of the park making it real easy for this girl to say nice things about them! Recently I got the chance to try out several shades of the Tarte Tarteist Metallic Shadows and I’ll forewarn you all by saying this: If you like rich creamy metallic pigment, then these are most definitely going to wow you!

There are so many things I love right off the bat with the Tarteist Metallic Shadows; The packaging is completely customizable so if you want to keep them as singles they have their own packaging (including mirror!), but they also pop out super easy into your palette of choice (I’ve not tried Tarte’s empty palettes but I’ve heard they are awesome!). You might notice in the picture above that two of mine have seen better days. Sadly I think due to the rich formula (more on that later) they perished in transit. I can confirm though that I have repressed them and they are performing just as beautifully as they did before!
So What About The Formula?
That’s what we all really want to know and you’ll see by the swatched below that these are mega pigmented! The texture is incredibly buttery; If I didn’t know better I would assume these are a cream shadow. It feels very similar to the L’Oreal Infallible Shadows, but in a proper pressed format. Because of this, I prefer to pat these on with a stiff brush, or better yet my finger. There was only one shade that applied a bit chunkier than the rest, Pop Rock, but a good sticky base underneath seemed to make it adhere much better (my swatches are always done with no base and in a one swatch motion). Since the formula is so rich in texture, I would recommend a shadow base or primer for longevity. The formula of these also makes for really easy one-shadow looks; Pat on the shadow all over the lid with your finger and then buff out and diffuse edges with a brush for a multi-tonal look!Â
There are a variety of shades available, so make sure you check these out on both Sephora and Tarte’s websites; There are different colours available on each. If you love deep dark tones, there are some really unique duo-chromes that also make amazing liners. I’m also living for all the burnt russet reds, browns and coppers!Â
Bravo Tarte, you clearly nailed the shadow game again, and at $18 CND, these are a total steal!

Omg the packaging though!! Are you able to pop them out and throw them into a Z pallete as well? I love the darker shades, so pretty!
