Eyeliner Made Easy : Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liner
When it comes to eyeliner, I have almost as high expectations as I do mascara, and we all know I set that bar high. I want something that won’t smudge, flake or fade, and it gets bonus points if it hangs around in the waterline half decently. That’s a pretty tall task for most eyeliners to take on, and so I wasn’t really expecting to love the Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liners as much as I do! If you’re not super swift with liner, are new to makeup, or just generally want things to move along a little quicker in the morning, keep reading to find out why I think these might be worth taking a look at!
The Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liners claim to be revolutionary eyeliners that fuse the easy application or pencil with the glide and intensity of a liquid. While I would quite agree on the intensity of a liquid, I would say they feel like a gel or cream liner when applying, and are certainly smoother than most pencils. I do think “glide” is the correct word to describe how these feel when applying, there really is no tugging or skipping. The unique flat angled shape makes it super easy to hug your lashes, giving you the choice of adding just a bit of definition, or a bolder line like I did in the first image. I truly didn’t think I would prefer this shape, but I find it so easy to use, even when doing a bit of a flick at the outer corners!
I have two shades out of the eight available: 772 Pro Mahogany (which is actually much more plummy than brown) and 082 Pro Anthracite (a warm charcoal grey). They both apply like a dream both on the lash lines and in the waterline (I actually find the flat angle almost easier to line the tightline without accidental eye stabbing…). I had read some reviews of these saying that they were stiff, dry and the tips had a tendency to break off, but after several weeks of use I can honestly say my experiences are the complete opposite!

In terms of wear, these set slowly giving you time to smudge out or manipulate the product if you like before setting. I actually really like that in a liner as it gives me time to perfect my ‘wings’ or smudge into my shadow for a seamless gradient. These do set however to a pretty budge proof finish which is an absolute must for me. In the several weeks I’ve been testing them, I’ve not had any issues with fading, cracking or smudging (besides my intentional smudging of course!). I do have rather watery eyes, but these came off super easy with face cleanser which has me leaning to them being more on the water resistant side rather than waterproof (I expect to have to use a dedicated eye makeup remover to dissolve waterproof formulas). My only other caveat with the Diorshow Pro Liners is that there is not much product in them compared to some other lines, at only 0.30 grams. For comparison, Marc Jacobs Highliners are 0.5grams, Urban Decay Waterline 24/7 Pencils are 1.2 grams and Mac Chromagraphic Pencils are 1.2 grams. Having said that, none of those have the unique flat angled twist up tip, meaning you’re not wasting product sharpening, which is definitely something worth noting!
Overall, I am so impressed which these and am already eyeing up the Backstage Brown shade! If you’ve struggled to get liner smooth and seamless, I’d highly recommend the Pro Liners!
