I can’t remember the last product that I saw hyped up quite as much in the grand interwebs as the BECCA X Jaclyn Hill Shimmer Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop collaboration. With the hashtag #HighlightOnFleek spotted all over twitter, and makeup lovers stalking Sephora shelves for the peachy gold hued illuminating powder, I knew there had to be something to write home about.

Becca’s newest edition to their much loved Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed range is a collaboration with YouTube’s Jaclyn Hill – a fiery redhead who’s become known for her love of highlighting products. Teamed up together they created the gorgeous peachy golden Champagne Pop, which Jaclyn touts as, “the very best highlighter on the market”. Given the attention this has been getting online, I would say most folks agree with her!
Not going to lie here, it is gorgeous. The texture is a creamy feeling as a powder product could possibly be, and the peachy golden glow looks amazing on most skins (though very fair girls be warned, this might be too golden for you. I would look into Becca classic from the same range, Moonstone). Tanned skins will probably benefit most from this shades undertone, which is wonderful given so many highlighting products on the market can make tanned and darker skin tones look ashy.
Now I will say this – this is not for those who want a super subtle glow. If you struggle with textural issues on your skin, or very large pores on the cheeks you might find something of this natural in general emphasizes these concerns. General rule of thumb in this case would be to find the most finely milled illuminating powder if this is your concern, and use a light hand and really buff the product onto the skin. Or go for the classic formula liquid Shimmering Skin Perfector or newer cream formula Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured. In my case, because I have drier skin I find I need to work this product in a bit before it gives me the perfect candle lit glow. If I just dust it on I find it a bit more on the sparkling side, which isn’t as pretty on my 32 year old face (I’ll leave that for the smooth skinned 22 year olds out there, knock your glittering selves out!). Regardless it’s stunning, but it is all about the look you are going for.
Another word of caution: this product is a delicate formula. In order to get that creamy feel, it is looser in density which means this is not the one to travel with! (just take a quick boo online to see horror stories of broken Champagne Pop’s – heartbreaking!)
Overall, BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop is stunning. I’m not going to tell you that you need it, but I’m not about to tell you that you don’t. It is however limited edition, so if you do need it in your life, do so soon…. #HighlightOnFleek
