DID YOU THINK CHARLOTTE TILBURY WAS DONE WHEN IT CAME TO THE PILLOW TALK COLLECTION?
Hardly! It all began with a simple lip pencil, which turned into a quick cult classic and now here we are, multiple launches later. There was the lipstick, the quad, the blush… but oh wait, there’s more? I was lucky enough to get my hands on the whole collection so apologies in advance if it looks like this blog is solely a Charlotte Tilbury blog for the foreseeable future #sorrynotsorry.
I’m going to kick off some reviews with possibly the most eye-catching of the lot, the Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette. The palette boasts 12 shades broken down into Charlotte’s signature, easy to use, looks. In this case, those are Day, Desk, Date, Dream – but of course, the world is your oyster with this palette.
- Day Look:
– 3 x 0.24 oz/ 7 g Eyeshadows in Dreamy Champagne Pink (prime), Shimmering Rose Gold (enhance), Matte Dusty Pink (smoke)
- Desk Look:
– 3 x 0.24 oz/ 7 g Eyeshadows in Matte Peachy-Camel (prime), Mesmerising Peachy-Coral (enhance), Burnt Terracotta (smoke),
- Date Look:
– 3 x 0.24 oz/ 7 g Eyeshadows Magical Matte Taupe (prime), Soft Tawny Brown (enhance), Warm Velvety Brown (smoke)
- Dream Look:
– 3 x 0.24 oz/ 7 g Eyeshadows in Shimmering Rosy Pink (prime), Sparkling Sunset Pink (enhance), Blushed Berry Rose (smoke)
THE FORMULA: If you’ve never tried Charlotte’s eyeshadows before, you are in for a treat. The mattes are creamy and the shimmers are almost emollient in texture. They build so beautifully and blend out effortlessly without the worry of patchiness or blending away to nothing. This is the type of formula that applies to the eyes so much better than it even swatches.
THE FINISH: There are 12 shadows in this palette, 8 matte and 4 shimmers. None of them are the sparkly/glittery formula you may be familiar with in Charlotte’s quads. The shimmers are really creamy and can be a wash of shimmer with a brush or can go full metallic with your finger.
THE WEAR TIME: I prime my eyes 95% off the time, and I definitely feel that Charlotte’s formula works well on a primer in terms of longevity. Given the creamy nature of these, I feel like a base edges out a couple more hours in terms of creasing or fading.

MY THOUGHTS: I love it. To put it simply.
I really enjoy Charlotte’s formula and the colour scheme of this palette is incredibly cohesive. I love the shades she chose for mattes and for shimmers giving the palette a fighting chance for all needs. I initially didn’t think I would enjoy the berry tones as much, I think they really work here. I love that she included some true peach mattes that make for a bit more of an interesting transition or crease options over typical camel brown. If I had a single complaint, it would be wishing for a deeper brown/burgundy tone that could work as a liner to really make this the perfect palette.
In terms of packaging, Charlotte has nailed elegance with usability. The palette is super slim at only about 10mm deep, with no excess packaging and a full-sized mirror. The palette is plastic but doesn’t feel or look cheap.
The Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette is limited edition, so don’t wait if it strikes your fancy! Yes, it is pricy, but the value is actually much better in her larger palettes than her quads so take that for what you will.
