There’s been some rumblings in the beauty community. Is the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette a dupe of Anastasia’s Sultry?

Oh, the beauty community loves to serve a cup of hot tea, don’t they? Anyone who’s worked within the industry might understand how long lead times and production takes. Months of planning from concept to packaging to production come into play with these launches. There are few unnamed brands that blatantly rip off colour schemes and packaging designs months after launch to jump on the bandwagon.

But Urban Decay isn’t one of them.

There is no doubt there are similar shades in both the Anastasia Sultry and Urban Decay Naked Reloaded*. I ask you to really look at them though.

Sure, both of these palettes have that pop of colour in an otherwise neutral palette. But that’s a trend we’ve been seeing for the last year or so. While I think you could create similar looks with the palettes, I feel they are fundamentally different.

While the Sultry palette has that pop of poppy-hued coral, Naked Reloaded has a peach leaning coral. Yes, the concept of the pop of colour is there, but coral is the 2019 Pantone colour of the year. There are some convincing similarities in the transitionary matte browns, thought Urban Decay’s are warmer. In fact, the entire Naked Reloaded palette, in general, is warmer.

Could you create a similar look using both of these palettes? Yes.
Do they each offer a different variety of looks from each other? Also yes.

I love the cool bronzes and cool taupes of Anastasia Sultry, it’s different than all my other neutral palettes. It offers just as the name suggests: Sultry shades that let you really amp up the glam if you wanted.

Naked Reloaded is easy to wear everyday neutrals that are much easier for daytime looks. I don’t have to think a lot when using this palette and the warm golden and rosy browns work effortlessly together.

So basically I love both… for different reasons.

They are not dupes. They have some similarities, like all neutral palettes if we’re being honest. I think you get a bit more variety with the Sultry palette, but it is limited edition so I’d snatch it up now if you’ve been debating it!
