My Must Have Hero Product For All Mascara Lovers
Folks, we’re two months into 2019 and I still find myself shouting at people, “For the love of all that is good in the world, take your makeup off before bed!”
I mean really, did anyone else see that article that circled around last year about the women who never properly removed her mascara? No, well I’ll warn you now, it’s not a great read for those who are faint of heart or happen to be eating. Point it, surely this must be enough to convince you all to take off your makeup every night, right? Ok, what if I told you that you could easily remove stubborn and waterproof mascara in 10 seconds, would you do it then?
The Best Eye Makeup Remover, Ever
I’m who’s been regularly wearing waterproof mascara since the turn of this century (I really should refrain from sentences like this; I sound all kinds of old lady). So basically, I’ve got some good authority on what makes a good makeup remover. I’ve been through them all;Â Luxury, drugstore, micellar, dual – phase, coconut oil (ugh, remind me never to do that again!). Over the years, there are has been ONE eye makeup remover that crushes all the competition, and I’ve repurchased it countless time.
So my secret is the Vichy Purete Thermale Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. This stuff breaks down even the hardest waterproof mascara in seconds. Yep, you heard me right; It takes me 10 seconds per eye to get the mascara releasing from my lashes. No tugging or rubbing like you would with an oil cleanser, micellar water or, *cringe*, a makeup wipe.
It’s a dual phase product like many out there including cult favourites from L’ancome and Clarins. The former leaves my eyes feel blurry for hours, like there’s a film I just can’t get rid of. The latter takes bloody forever to actually get mascara moving around. Oh, and both of them are at least twice the price of the Vichy.
So I give the product a shake, soak two ends of my all-time favourite cotton squares and hold to each eye for 10 seconds or so. I then double cleanse as usual. Never do I have any sort of mascara, eyeliner or stubborn brow products hanging around after. I never have any sensitivity, it doesn’t sting, and my lashes stay in incredible condition.
