New Shade Alert: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil
A couple months back NARS finally went and expanded the shade range of one of their most popular products, the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. Previously the colour line up range super red heavy and left neutral or ‘my lips but better lovers’ in the dust. If you’re like me and loved the formula of these but never found your perfect shade, you’ll be happy to hear how all inclusive the range is now – cheeky names and all!

For those wondering what made the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils so great, it’s all down to the formula for me. These have a smooth feel to them upon application and don’t dry down to a dry texture. Having said this, these aren’t without their faults; No twist up (seriously, who carries a pencil sharpener with them?) and the names leave a lot to be desired for many (Pussy Control? Really Nars? Insert the eye rolling emoji here please).
These simply wear comfortably, don’t sink into every dry patch and line and reapply/layer perfectly. What more can you ask for in a matte lipstick finish? I was sent 3 shades to try out and all of them were super wearable for the non-red-lover in me. The colour Intriguing quickly has become my perfect go-with-everything my lips but better choice for everyday! The only colour that would probably require an application of balm first is Get Off, but that tends to be the nature of peachy nude shades in general.
Have you had the chance to look at this cult classic lip pencil since NARS launched new shades? I am thrilled they finally expanded the range and love how convenient applying a matte lip is with a pencil.
Which shade appeals to you the most in the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil range?
All 3 shades are really pretty for everyday & Intriguing is my fav 🙂
Mine too!
I Really Love NARS and I Have Been Dying to Try Their Orgasm Products Like the Lipstick, the Blush, & the Highlighter! It’s So Pretty and Those are the Kind of Colors That Look Best On Me Because I Have Really Fair Skin! Thanks So Much for Sharing Jamie, Have a Blessed Day! – Jana ?
Do me Baby is a great shade too! I’ve been wearing my nudes just a bit darker and having an olive skintone, it’d probably suit me for everyday wear.
Im with you on the slightly darker nudes – too pale and I look sickly!
