Five Blushes for Fall 2015
Autumn is one of those seasons I really find myself adjusting my makeup for, especially blush. After a summer of peaches and corals, I find myself desiring more rosy, pink and neutral tones. So here are five blushes I tend to gravitate towards for the Autumn/Fall season
The Warm Pink – Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Tremble
I’ve raved about this before here on GLG. I find it hard to find a good mid tone pink that isn’t blue based, and doesn’t go on chalky. Although this might seem a bit powdery when you dip your brush in, it then buffs onto the skin beautifully, never once looking dry or patchy. Consider this a real complexion perk up shade.
The Berry Toned Pink – Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Passion
This is the blush for that, “I’ve been outside on a crisp Autumn day” flush. It has a fine shimmer in it that gives some glow, and the pigment packs a punch so you barely need any to give you that freshly pinched cheek look.
The Soft Pink – Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Petal
This one is a soft matte pale pink that isn’t warm, nor cool toned. These blushes are beautifully milled and don’t apply dusty or powdery in the slightest ( the ‘Second Skin’ name is fitting). This is really one of those hint of pink blushes that is great for someone who’s worried of over applying.
The Rosy Golden Glow – Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blusher in Love Glow*
I’ve worn this blush so many times in the last month I’ve lost track. It’s a two toned blush with a rosy pink and then a rose laced with super fine golden pearl. If you’re going to go shimmer on the cheeks, and worry about emphasized lines and pore, this is going to be your best friend. I think Charlotte really creates products to be completely ageless and timeless; I wear this, and so does my Grandmother!
The Rosy Neutral – Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dazzled
Another Tarte blush, which is no surprise because the formula truly lasts the longest on my skin. Dazzled is a soft matte neutral based rose pink that I LOVE this time of year. Unlike many neutral blushes which tend to err on the side of brown, this one has a bit more life to it. It goes with pretty much anything, and is anything but a boring neutral blush!
