This Just In | Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm

Laura Mercier Lip Parfait in Amaretto Swirl review+swatch
When it comes to cosmetics, I honestly feel like Laura Mercier is one of the most underrated yet beautifully curated ranges out there. I’ve had a hard time finding anything from the line that I don’t get on with, but hadn’t tried many lip products. So naturally when I saw the new Laura Mercier Lip Parfait, described as a ‘creamy colourbalm’, I instantly was intrigued by the title. I mean, anything that has colour+balm in the description must be amazing, right?

Turns out my first instincts were right. These creamy, balmy lip colours feel lightweight and super moisturizing on the lips, yet wear surprisingly well. Unlike many tinted balm type lip products, the colour payoff in these is really that of a lipstick. I have the shade Amaretto Swirl, a nude pinky beige – normally a problematic shade for my pigmented lips, but it glided on beautifully with great opaque coverage!

One thing I will note, the brand claims these offer the comfort of a lipbalm (check!) the coverage of a lipstick (again, check!) and the shine of a gloss (um, not so much). While these aren’t flat by any means, I wouldn’t use the term ‘gloss’ to describe the shade I have. I am curious to try some of the other colours in the range to see if some have more of a glossy finish to them, but Amaretto Swirl has a satin lipstick-like finish to it.

Regardless, I am pleasantly (though not surprisingly) impressed by the latest offering from the Laura Mercier camp. The Lip Parfaits are the perfect lip product to toss in your purse for easy mirrorless touch ups on the go!

Have you tried these yet? What is your favourite type of lip product to wear?
