Pixi’s Latest Palette Just Nailed It
[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t’s been a hot minute since I was this shocked in terms of incredible colour and quality in something with a drugstore availability. Pixi’s Cafe Con Dulce Sweet Glow Palette serves up 9 multiuse bronze, rose and champagne shades that are all insanely pigmented and highly metallic! Even more unique, its a powder to cream formula (usually that’s the other way around).

As I mentioned, this formula is a powder to cream which is quite unique. It really feels insanely creamy at first touch, and blends onto the skin as a cream texture. If you’ve previously had trouble wearing metallic shadows on your lids due to it showing texture, then this formula is for you. The swatches below are all one swipe single pass swatches – that is how pigmented and rich these powder/creams are!
The collaboration palette with Youtuber Dulce Candy is referred to as a multiuse palette for cheeks and lids. Personally, I find them too shimmery and metallic for cheeks as a blush on its own. I have blended a few shades together as a highlighter or a blush topper to add some glow and they pack a punch! What I really prefer this palette for is eyeshadow; The bronze shades look stunning all over the lid with a little of the lightest shade in the inner corner. I’ve used both brush and fingers to apply and prefer my fingers for this formula, and a synthetic brush to diffuse and soften edges if needed. For blush or highlighter, I prefer a stiffer brush to pick up product and buff it into the back of my hand a bit to get that powder to cream activation going. Then I apply to cheekbones and really get that glossy effect!
I did notice upon first application on my eyes that this formula creased. No doubt, given the emollient nature of these I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to use them as shadow. With my favourite shadow primer down first though, I was good to go all day! I don’t have particularly frequent issues with shadow creasing, so if you do I would definitely prime or put down a base.
This palette honestly shocked me. I just wasn’t expecting such a rich and smooth texture with such insane colour payoff. I really love the shade range; The pinks might seem unwearable for eyes, but mixed with the bronzes make for an insane rose gold. I like to think of this as a bit of a painters palette given the formula; Mixing up custom shades makes it a really incredible value!
