PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Review

Last month I posted about a little adventure I was taking with PMD Beauty testing out their Personal Microderm to get my skin in baby-ready shape. I’ve always taken very good care of my skin in terms of products, drinking lots of water, and hygiene, but there are just some issues beyond my control. At 34, I’ve started to see fine lines and little creases pop up that didn’t exist before, and pregnancy has given my skin a bit of a run for its money in terms of texture and tone. So after some trial and error, I have some definite thoughts on the Personal Microderm I’m ready to share with you all!

I was initially tentative to try microdermabrasion because I’ve never been one for manual exfoliators. I have sensitive skin that is reactive and worried about it being too harsh for me. Now having tried it, however, I can say that it is pretty darn foolproof!

You start with the White Training Disc and test it out on your arm first. From there, you follow the handy chart provided (I actually taped this up in my bathroom so I could make sure I was using it in the right direction). At first, I found it wasn’t gliding, only to realize I wasn’t holding the skin taut. So once I figured that out, I had the hang of it right away. The entire process only takes a couple minutes, which is ideal for my lifestyle these days.

After using the PMD Beauty Personal Microderm for the last month. Skin is smoother, and more even! Don’t mind those dark circles though – at 9 months pregnant I’m not getting nearly as much sleep as I’d like!

Directly after the treatment, I notice a touch of redness, which is expected, and it disappears within 15 minutes or so. As per the instructions, I follow up with a gentle calming toner as I usually do (to balance the pH in my skin), my usual serum, and a rich, hydrating moisturizer to suit my dry skin. I can significantly notice how much better my skincare melts into my skin and how my skin seems to absorb them.

Of course, besides how much better my skincare feels going on, my skin feels better too! It’s definitely smoother overall (texture was the main concern I wanted to address), and my makeup is looking WAY better on top. I’ve even been going makeup free every few days and feeling pretty darn good about it! My second concern was some early signs of ageing and the beginnings of crows feet seem fainter. I also have this funny little crease on the side of my nose that bugs me, and it has gotten less noticeable as well!

FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE PMD BEAUTY PERSONAL MICRODERM

If you can’t tell, I’m super impressed with the PMD Beauty Personal Microderm! Getting the opportunity to try it couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I think if you are someone that struggles with texture and tone, or have forked out big money to have professional microdermabrasion treatments in the past, then this is definitely a great buy!
