Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne Daydream & Beauty Beam Palettes
[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]ou guys, I am not even going to lie, before this collection, I had no idea who Kristen Leanne was. I know, I know, I am the worst. Then I was invited to a launch event here in Vancouver where Kristen was attending and knew I needed to get my act in gear, pronto! I immediately subscribed and started watching her videos. I love how much she loves colour!
I will say though, I am kind of past my bright coloured shadow days. So when I saw the peach toned Daydream Palette I was SUPER thrilled; It’s no secret how much I love peach hues! There’s also a triple shade highlighter in the collection that I was wary of; Urban Decay’s highlighters have been quite glittery in the past. Turns out it’s stunning too! Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne Daydream Palette Review

Right off the mark, I noticed the packaging of this collection. While I prefer packaging that isn’t cardboard normally, Urban Decay and Kristen did a really nice job with the Daydream Palette. The floral motif on the inside is so pretty and the mirror is actually decent. Believe it or not, the brush that is included is actually really soft and useable – hallelujah!Â
While the Kaleidoscope Palette is all the colour you could ever need, Daydream Palette is a more muted take on bright. I instantly was drawn to the cream/tan/peach/chocolate hues but debated whether it would be different enough to justify purchasing. The proof is always in the pudding and these shadows perform incredibly beautiful. They are smooth, ultra pigmented and blend so easily! While they can give off some kickback, you really only need to tap your brush into the pan. Often formulas like this don’t actually apply nicely, skipping and blending away to nothing. This totally isn’t the case with the Daydream Palette; These shadows are simply stunning and I’ve worn them every day since.

Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne Beauty Beam Palette Review

You guys know by now I am not a massive powder highlighter fan because I find they can sometimes emphasize the drier nature of my skin. I want glow not sparkle, and in the past I’ve not loved the brands formulas for highlighter. Consider my mind changed though because Beauty Beam Palette is GORGEOUS people. It gives my skin this glossy radiance that few powders do! I really didn’t think much of this when I opened it but I am so glad I tested it out. The texture is smooth but not overly creamy – they apply in a buildable manor that I appreciate.
The shades offered would look stunning on any skin tone, and I often like mixing and matching them together. I’ve not reached for another highlighter since I opened this, which I think is a clear indication of my feelings about it. This evening as I took off my makeup that had been on since early morning, my highlight was still glowing. Usually, by that many hours of wear, I only have rogue shimmer leftover!
Beauty Beam is also packaged in a cardboard palette, with a pink motif in and out and a mirror as well. While I’d like a sleeker compact, the branding is fun and fits the colourful theme of the collection. I also appreciate the pan size and haven’t found a brush yet that can’t evenly pick up the product.

If you were debating picking up anything from this collection, I highly recommend either (or both!) of these palettes. The formulas are superb and I think Kristen and Urban Decay did a fabulous job offering something that would be user-friendly to everyone. I truly wasn’t going to purchase either of these before being invited to see them in person. I think its a true case of trusting the brand you know and love because Urban Decay rarely steers my wrong. I am so glad I got the chance to test these for you all because I can honestly say they are 100% worth the buy!

Both of these palettes are gorgeous! I think I’d depot the eyeshadow palette though, I feel like it’s a bit clunky for so few shadows.
