Newness from Nars

NARS Charlotte Gainsbourgh Sunwash Bronzer

I am a little late to the game on this launch, but NARS has popped out a handful of new products lately! I almost skipped past the Charlotte Gainsbourgh limited edition collection but there are some definite wins. Also new, the Sun Wash Bronzers are finally an improvement on the famed NARS bronzer formula.

NARS CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG COLLECTION

I received two products from this limited edition collection. One is a winner and one gets a pass from me. Firstly, there are three shades of the brands famed The Multiple in the collection. Like the name suggests, these are multi purpose sticks that can add colour all over the face and were one of the brand’s original claims to fame. I received the shade Jo, which is a juicy watermelon pink that leaves a sheer tint to the skin and lips. Unfortunately, this is a pass for me; I don’t find the sheer colour builds up enough on my cheeks and tends to rub my foundation off when applying. I do think that someone who is fearful of cheek colour and doesn’t wear a base would probably love this, it’s just not for me!

Secondly, a product that gets two thumbs from me is the Eyeshadow Duo in Old Church Street. I never thought I would choose this shade combo, but that is the beauty of receiving products as PR sometimes! I actually find myself really loving the shimmering champagne on the lid with the dusky matte teal smudged on the lash lines. Both apply beautifully and last well (even the teal which is a notoriously hard shade to pull off). I can see myself wearing this duo a lot this Fall, but it is limited edition so if you like it grab it now!

NARS SUN WASH DIFFUSING BRONZER

This is such an anticipated launch for me! For years I’ve listened to everyone rave about NARS famed Laguna Bronzer, but sadly it never looked right on me. Much too yellow and muddy on my complexion, I had been hoping for ages NARS would bring a new formula out for bronzers. I’m thrilled to say the Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzers are a major upgrade!

The texture of these powders is similar to the Dual Intensity Blushes, which means they don’t kick up a ton of powder and really have a silky feel. I got the shade Casino which is less golden in tone (perfect for me!) and adds the perfect amount of warmth without going orange. Unlike the original formula (which is still available and not being replaced as far as I know…) I don’t feel like I need to dig my brush around in the compact to pick up enough product. Oppositely, I also don’t feel that it is so pigmented that it applies patchy or clinging.

Unlike many brands, NARS has never been overly regular with launching limited edition seasonal collections. Most of the time I find them quite passable, preferring when they actually launch new permanent lines. In this case, I think the Charlotte Gainsbourg collaborative collection has a couple of hits that you might just want to snatch up before they are gone for good.

Let me know what you thought of this collection in the comments below and if you’ve tried and of the new bronzer shades!
