Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters

Too Faced Love Light Highlighters

I don’t always love Too Faced for their packaging, but the brand new Love Light Prismatic Highlighters might just be up there in terms of prettiest presentation! The heart shaped compact, the faceted gemstone-like powder embossing, the colour matched powder to packaging… it’s all so swoon worthy! Launching online today, I’ve put all three shades to the test. Prepare for a serious case of the heart-eyes in 5,4,3,2….

FORMULA

Too Faced calls their Love Light Prismatic Highlighters a buildable pearl finish with a liquid-to-powder formula. Apparently, they’ve taken the best of liquid powder, cream and baked formulas and combined them for the ultimate luminous finish.

I’m not sure about the liquid-to-powder claim, but these do feel really nice and silky to the touch. While some highlighters feel almost creamy (Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors for example) this feels more like a finely milled powder.

PIGMENTATION & APPLICATION

Because of the thinner, finer texture of these powders, the colour payoff is totally buildable depending on the brush and application.

The three shades all swatched beautifully but also picked up well on a fan brush. I was able to get anywhere from a light dusting to an intense metallic sheen, which I really appreciate as someone who does have fine lines and texture and wants subtly.

FINISH

I completely agree with Too Faced’s claims that these have a pearl consistency. The finished result is smooth and radiant on the skin without sparkle or glitter (hallelujah!).

If you’ve been overwhelmed with super intense, almost unwearable highlighting products lately, these are for you!

SHADES

The Love Light Prismatic Highlighters currently come in three shades:

Blinded By The Light: Cool champagne

Ray of Light: Rose gold

You Light Up My Life: Yellow Gold

I don’t find myself reaching for You Light Up My Life as it’s much too brassy for my light/medium skin tone. I do however love both Blinded By The Light and Ray of Light, with the rose gold of the latter winning out. I’ve even mixed the two shades together for a unique rosy champagne that looks stunning with pretty much every look I’ve tried.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Highlighter lovers, these are not to be passed on!

The compacts are absolutely adorable (and have a mirror!) but the powders inside are even more stunning. I even showed Mr GLG when they showed up on my desk because I was so in awe!

My heart goes Ray of Light as top favourite given I just don’t have any shades quite like it in my collection. If you are super fair skinned however or want a much more stark highlight I would suggest Blinded By The Light.

Darker skin tones will absolutely ROCK the warm gold of You Light Up My Life; I’m positively jealous it doesn’t look right on me.

  1. I want them all!! My coworker and I were absolutely drooling over your review. They’re so beautiful, that it would almost be a shame to use them and wear down that cool prismatic texture.
