Urban Decay Gets Naked… Again

Urban Decay Naked Heat Collection Review and Swatches

By now you’ve probably heard that Urban Decay is back on the naked train with their Naked Heat Palette! When it showed up on my desk a couple of weeks ago I was instantly drawn to it. The warm coppers, reds, burgundy and bronze tones spoke to me! The original Naked Palette, while warm, was too golden for me. The Naked Heat Palette though is a thing of dreams for these green-gold eyes and I couldn’t wait to try it out!

URBAN DECAY NAKED HEAT PALETTE {Sephora, Ulta}

Urban Decay has come a long way since the original ‘naked’ days. Two things I noticed instantly were the balance of matte and shimmer, and there were no shade duplicates. You’re getting 12 all new eyeshadows in Naked Heat which I think is really what consumers want at this point. There are 7 matte shadows in varying depths, 4 metallic shadows and 1 satin-sheen shadow, which equates to one of the most balanced palettes Urban Decay has put out in ages.

THE SHADE BREAKDOWN

Naked Heat performs exactly as I’ve come to expect from Urban Decay; The mattes are smooth without blending away, and the shimmer/metallic shades are rich and pigmented. I get all day wear (no primer needed!) with minimal fading, which is no small feat for red toned shadows. There are a couple of shades that swatch questionably – En Fuego and Ashes – but actually perform much better on the lid. Both are matte shades and I often find this the case; They both picked up nicely on the brush and blended well on the lid.

In terms of uniqueness, there are some real stunners in this palette! Lumbre is a stunning peach laced copper shimmer while Dirty Talk is a richly pigmented copper penny metallic and Ember is possibly the most beautiful bronze that flashes both copper and burgundy.

I am throwing it out there and saying this is easily my most favourite Urban Decay Naked Palette to date. I feel like rather than trying to stay on top of the whole neutral-palette-hype thing that is so huge these days, they took their time and really thought this one through. It’s a beautifully curated, warm shadow lovers dream!

  1. Really pretty palette & pigmented 🙂 I told myself that I don’t need it but everyone is raving about it so it’s tough to resist

  2. The palette is pretty, I have not seen it in person, but I do not think I bought it. Because I have other temptations in mind.
