The Drugstore Foundation I Have Been Loving

Loreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation Review

One of my guilty pleasures as a beauty blogger is trying every foundation known to man. Ok, not every foundation, but a girl can dream right? I’ve tried $200+ foundations that have let me down, and today I am raving about a drugstore priced foundation that has blown me away. Who could have guessed? In the case of L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation*, you could put a $50 price tag on it and I would buy it, but I’m thrilled to know I don’t have to spend that much to get an incredible, dry skin-friendly foundation and the old saying of “You only get what you pay for” isn’t always true.

Application & Finish

L’Oreal claims that Pro-Glow is a medium coverage, 24 hour wearing, radiant finish foundation with an ‘air-light’ texture. The foundation is very liquidy in texture, which surprised me given the squeeze tube packaging and the fact that it is geared towards dry skin types, which usually come in a cream formula. Because of the formula, it blended out effortlessly with my Artis Oval 8 Brush* (after trying several brushes, I found a dense, flat-topped brush or Beauty Blender the best for this texture of foundation). Sometimes foundations of a thinner texture are not as forgiving on skin that has texture to it, but this glided over pores, fine lines and dry patches like they were not even there!

I instantly fell in love with the finish. It most certainly is radiant, but not in a greasy way like a lot of the serum-style foundations of late can look. Pro-Glow looks so skin-like that I actually struggled a few times in the early morning hours trying to detect where I had applied foundation already! It also layered really well to build coverage, which starts out as a medium and definitely can be built to cover most imperfections.

Performance

Minus testing it out for 24 hours (’cause seriously??) it lasted through an entire 8-hour shift at work (with barely working air con, might I add!) plus several hours until I finally took it off. I will say that it has a dewy feel to it, so you will want to set it with a touch of powder in order for other powder products like bronzer and blush to blend nicely over top. It’s the only downside in my opinion to this foundation, having said that I felt that it gave enough glow even with a light dusting of powder over top that it didn’t negate the radiant finish. I have pretty dry skin and had no issues with caking or dry patches, even after powdering.
