Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencils | The Gwen Stefani Collection

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani 24/7 Lip Pencil Review and Swatch
I’ve talked about the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Collection loads here recently. I loved the eyeshadow palette and the lipsticks, and could take or leave the blush palette. Now I’ve got the Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencils that Gwen collaborated with and have to say, they are exactly what I expected!

The bombshell blonde songstress has ‘no doubt’ (see what I did there?) made her iconic look based around a razor sharp lip, so I really expected nothing short of amazing from these, especially after trying the lipsticks and being impressed. Urban Decay is known for their 24/7 Pencil range, whether it be for eyes or lips, for their silky smooth application and long wearing capability and these are no different. Like the original line, these lipliners feel creamy to the touch but then set to a water resistant finish. Unlike some lip pencils that can feel dry and chalky, these really allow you to get that crisp line without tugging or patchiness.
The collection came out with five shades, of which I was thrilled to receive four. As with the lipsticks, most are in the bright tones, with the exception of a fantastic nude that I can see being the hit of the collection for its broad spectrum of uses. They’ve paired these up to match the corresponding shades in the lipstick line for all but one lipstick (Spiderweb) which is a bit odd, but that particular shade really hugs the lips well without any liner. I do think it is strange to release six lipsticks, but only five lip liners in a collection, but hey-ho…

The shades available are:
Ex-Girlfriend – a nude rose
714 – a classic red
Rocksteady – a deeper blood red
Firebird – deep fuchsia
Wonderland – a pink red (I don’t have this one)
All four of the shades I tried with true pigment, applied beautifully and lasted as I’ve come to know and expect from Urban Decay. I find these really apply well on their own as well, used to colour in the lip or fill in the outer corners for an ombre lip look, and work especially well for those times when you want your lip colour to stay on your lips, and not someone else’s *wink*.

I am beyond impressed with the Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencils, and plan on picking up a few more in the future. You can find the both the permanent range at Sephora and UrbanDecay.com
