  • Friday Face | Day to Dusk Makeup Featuring Purple

Day to Night makeup using purple, marc jacobs the tease palette, it cosmetics cc cream, charlotte tilbury, urban decay
I adore a good purple shadow, in fact for years I considered purple my neutral if you can believe it. As I’ve gotten older (cringe) I’ve been a bit more reserved with how I wear it, and I know it is a touch colour for some to pull off, so I thought I’d do a walk through of how I take purple from soft daytime to sultrier evening with the same palette.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, Pillow Talk Lip Cheat, Full Fat Lashes Mascara and Love Glow Blush, Aerin Weekday Gloss, Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Delinquent and the star of the show, Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con 7 Palette in The Tease.

    The Face

To get this look I started out with a nice smooth base using the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream in Light. I prefer to pat this on with my hands, or blend in with a Beauty Blender to get a nice even finish to the skin. I then did a touch of sculpting with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow under cheekbones, under my chin and along my forehead. I completed the face makeup with Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blusher in Love Glow.
To amp it up for evening: I dipped into the highlight side of the Filmstar Bronze and Glow and popped it on top of cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupids bow. I also buffed on a touch more Love Glow blush to bring them back to life (I always find blush is the first to disappear on me)

    The Eyes

For the eyes I swept the middle peachy beige shade in the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con Palette in The Tease all over my lid. I then mixed the vibrant purple 2nd from the right and the soft grey-purple second from the left and buffed it into the crease. I lined upper and lower lash lines with the Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Delinquent, a shimmering eggplant purple, and swept on a coat of Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara.
To amp it up for evening: I mixed the last two shades on the right of the palette and swept into the crease, and then took just the far right shade and blended into the outer corner and along the upper lash line for a bit more drama. I finally popped some of the sparkly pink shade third from the right into the inner corner and inner third of the lid. I finished the look with another coat of the mascara, which layers beautifully!

    The Lips

For daytime, I love colouring my lips in with a bit of Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Pencil in Pillow Talk. It’s the perfect neutral pink shade that just seems to work with every lip colour.
To amp it up for evening: I applied some of the Aerin Lip Gloss in Weekday which paired with the lip liner perfectly!

There you have it – not only making purple wearable, but also a sultry day to night full look with only 8 products! What are your favourite purple products?
