After seeing a few of my favourite bloggers sporting Essie’s Watermelon varnish, it quickly made it to my “to buy” list. A juicy pinky red, I could easily see this polish feeling at home any season so a scurried off to the store to pick it up pronto.
Once home, I couldn’t wait to get it on my nails. I’ll admit, it shows up much more red based than I had expected ( I was hoping for a touch more pink) but goes on like a dream. The formula on this shade seems a touch less thick than some of my other Essie polishes, which makes each stroke go on like buttah.
My nails are rather short right now due to some bad breaks ( see what I did there? I know, I promise I wont do it again) and I do think this colour suits me a bit better when my nails are longer, but it looks lovely none the less. Two coats was more than enough, in fact if I was in an absolute bind I could have gotten away with one, which is always a plus in my book.
All in all I can see myself actually getting more use out of this in the cooler months, and I can see it becoming a favourite on the toesies for sure.
What is on your nails right now? Which colours do you love all year round?
