Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow and Papa Don’t Peach

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette Review and Swatches

Earlier this week you read my thoughts on the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette and Creamy Peach Oil Lip Glosses  {here’s a hint: I am a fan!} and now I’ve got the second half of the collection for you with the Sweet Peach Glow Palette and Papa Don’t Peach Blush. Too Faced did not mess around when it came to soaking up all the peach-madness as far as they could stretch a collection, and I will say that one of these products I love, the other I am just so-so over. Keep reading to find out which one I’ve been grabbing for nonstop, and for my reviews and swatches.

Just like the Sweet Peach Palette and Oil Lip Glosses {read my review here}, Too Faced has gone over the top cutesy with the packaging on both of these products. Both come in metal tins with magnetic closures, both have mirrors (which are actually much better functioning than the shadow palette) and both have an overwhelmingly sweet peach scent that I don’t love. Also similarly to the previously reviewed products, the scent dissipates for me after application, thankfully.

“What  could be more gorgeous than a peachy blush, bronzer and highlighter all wrapped up into one sturdy little palette?”

When I saw the preview for this palette on the brand owners Instagram account some time ago I had high hopes. I mean, what  could be more gorgeous than a peachy blush, bronzer and highlighter all wrapped up into one sturdy little palette? The minute you open the palette, you’ll notice the adorable embossing of the powders. The highlight shade and bronzer shade having tiny peaches that look just like the emoji raised in the design of the powder, and the blush has a large peach with the name of the palette raised into it. The texture of these powders is relatively firm, so if you’re the type that hates when the cute patterns wear off (“raises hand…”) then you should get a nice long while out of this. Because of the firmer texture to these powders, I did find them a bit stiff in the pan and drier in feel that most of the Too Faced cheek products I’ve come to know. The bonus to this is of course that your brush doesn’t kick up a ton of powder and it doesn’t look chalky on the skin.

In terms of shade and pigmentation, is where I get let down by this a bit. I LOVE the shade of the blush, which is a soft melon-peach shade with subtle satin sheen to it, but that is about the extent of my love for Sweet Peach Glow. The bronzer was a big let down due to the undertone – it is really orange and relatively pale making it only usable for a small percentage of the population. When Too Faced is known for their bronzers, it always amazes me that they ski out of bounds when it comes to putting bronzers in their palettes. The highlight shade was also a miss; Swatching pretty enough, but it applies sparkly and glittery when used with a brush. Instead of getting a nice sheen to the cheekbones, It just looks like I wore a glitter eyeshadow that fell down everywhere.

Now this is a blush that is right up my street! Originally part of the line years ago, Too Faced has resurrected the cult favourite with updated packaging. With the same motif on the powder to match the uber sweet package, you get a whopping 9grams of product – enough to make a blush lover like myself totally swoon! The shade is a rich golden peach that has incredible pigment and can buff out flawlessly on the skin. The shimmer in the formula is refined enough that it adds glow instead of sparkle, and gives a light to the cheeks that it subtle and healthy looking.

Blush is one of the first things that fades on my face, and I’m thrilled that this has the same staying power as the Too Faced Love Flush Blushes (also favourites of mine!) and sticks around all day until I take it off in the evening. It also has a similar, softer formula much like the aforementioned Love Flush Blushes, which seems to be key in the smooth look it takes on the cheeks. I can really see this shade looking incredible on any skin tone as well, from super pale to rich deep complexions; The colour payoff is enough to hold up on any base!

So there you have the entire Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection reviewed {click here to read what I thought about the Sweet Peach Shadow Palette and Creamy Peach Oil Glosses}. I’d say I really love 3 out of 4 products, which the Sweet Peach Glow being just a half love due to the bronzer/highlighter fail. If I’d like to see anything from Too Faced in the next few launches (Especially now that they’ve been bought by cosmetics giant Estee Lauder!) is some more continuity across the board in terms of pigmentation and colour payoff. For a brand that has at least half a dozen bronzers under their belt, I expected better out of a bronzer included in such a hyped up collection. Having said that, Papa Don’t Peach has quickly made it into my ‘regular love and use’ drawer!
